His music is both engaging and helpful to me. His demise was probably the greatest stun for me. It took me a few days to acknowledge that he had passed on. I was exceptionally discouraged. Aside from wearing dim garments, she was likewise a maverick and delighted in testy tunes. One day she crumbled in class and was hurried to medical clinic. We later found she had profound cuts on her thighs and hands. From the outset we thought it was an instance of parental maltreatment. Fundamentally, it is forever my dad who gets fish. Be that as it may, on this specific evening, none of us was effective. As the night drew nearer, I felt my angling pole shake. As opposed to the Soviet Union, Americaââ¬â¢s strategy was arranged not exclusively to the military mastery, however to the monetary extension, too. The breakdown of the USSR illustrated another time in the international strategy of the United States, associated with psychological oppression and quiet Obamaââ¬â¢s technique. During the World War 2, the U.S. also, the Soviet Union were the partners, however there were a few indications of tense connections between them. As per Brinkley (2009), the nature of such worldwide marvel, as Cold War, is in pressure between the Soviet Union and U.S., communicated in military contention: ââ¬Å"The Cold War was a significant occasion throughout the entire existence of the twentieth century and, similar to World War II, reshaped the world request in significant ways. The serious competition between the United States and the Soviet Union â⬠and between law based free enterprise and socialism â⬠isolated a great part of the world into two not-exactly warring campsâ⬠(Brinkley, 757). In this way, the nature of Cold War fated the competition of the both super-nations on the planet field. What are the sources? Most history specialists accept that ââ¬Å"both the United states and the soviet association added to the air of antagonistic vibe and doubt that immediately blurred the peaceâ⬠(Brinkley, 758). As Roosevelt, Churchill and Stalin had various dreams of the after war picture, the wellsprings of Soviet-American pressure ought to be found in Atlantic sanction of 1941. After the war, in 1945, these lawmakers consented to the arrangement on the Yalta Conference. By the by, the dreams of the Soviet Union and those of Anglo-American were unique: ââ¬Å"â⬠¦the Soviet Union moved efficiently to build up master socialist governments in a single Central or Eastern European country after anotherâ⬠(Brinkley, 759). Accordingly, the worldwide battle of America and Russia was inevitable.Advertising Looking for explore paper on history? How about we check whether we can support you! The embraced Marshall Plan was valuable for the United States: ââ¬Å"An fundamental piece of the control strategy was a proposition to help in the monetary recreation of Western Europe. There were numerous thought processes: compassionate worry for the European individuals; a dread that Europe would stay a financial channel on the United States on the off chance that it couldn't rapidly revamp and start to take care of itself; a longing for a solid European market for American goodsâ⬠(Brinkley, 762). Subsequently, while the Soviet Union laid out reinforced its radical force and search the partners, the U.S. attempted to get most piece of Western Europe as its partner. Western Europe served a shield against the Soviet Union. In 1949, twelve nations consented to an arrangement, and there showed up North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), expected to protect the United States and Western Europe against military assault of the adversary. It speeded up the procedure of creation a union of socialist governments (Eastern Europe), acknowledged in 1955, by Warsaw agreement. The blast of first nuclear bomb by the Soviet Union, startled the United States, and caused it to fortify the non-socialist world position. Uncommitted Movement, expected to restrain Soviet extension, was built up; there began constant ideological battle of the two super-nations. Americaââ¬â¢s military control prompted the military clash, acknowledged in the Vietnam War (1955-1975). The military restriction of North Vietnam, upheld by the Communists, and South Vietnam, bolstered by the American government. In spite of the fact that, it brought about the triumph of the Communists, in any case, it drifted incredibly high. Despite the fact that, this war was agonizing for Americans, also: the U.S. lost 55,000 indivi duals (Brinkley, 811). The period in American financial matters of 1950-1960, Brinkley named as ââ¬Å"the monetary miracleâ⬠that was portrayed by escalated monetary development (Brinkley, 780). The innovative turn of events, brought about by monetary development, impacted the elevated level of American Air Force, and weapons â⬠bombs, rockets, and rockets. Likewise, there was the development of modern and social focuses of the United States, the achievement of the work development, the blast of science and innovation, specialized advancement, and the beginning of the PC age. By and by, the Soviet Union would not like to go behind, and propelled the primary satellite ââ¬Å"Sputnikâ⬠into space. ââ¬Å"Explorer Iâ⬠was American response to it; in addition, the United States made the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).Advertising We will compose a custom research paper test on Foreign Policy: What Has Been the Main Emphases of Americaââ¬â¢s For eign Policy from World War 2 to the Present Day? explicitly for you for just $16.05 $11/page Learn More furthermore, Americans were the main individuals who footed on the outside of the Moon: in ââ¬Å"1969, Neil Armstrong, Edwin Aldrin, and Michael Collins effectively went in a space container into space around the moonâ⬠(Brinkley, 787). The enormous social improvement ideologically affected the Soviet Union that had another vision on culture, constrained by revolutionary goals. Bit by bit, the substance of prosperous American culture was changing: the social equality development, populace minorityââ¬â¢s movement, antiwar shows, general frustrations of American culture, the emergency of Cold War (the Soviet Union set its atomic bombs on Cuba), and so on debilitate the intensity of the United States. Additionally, there was the emergency of power: the arraignment of Nixon (brought about by the Watergate emergency) contrarily impacted the American situation on the planet fie ld that gave indications of its financial rot. However, in 80-ies, Reagan impacted the recovery of the general American circumstance. Chosen in 1980, this president ââ¬Å"became an image of another sort of sure conservatism that would before long have tremendous impact in the United States and in numerous different pieces of the worldâ⬠(Brinkley, 871). The underlying foundations of American monetary achievement were in the solid intensity of free market. Likewise, he fortified international strategy: ââ¬ËThe Reagan organization upheld rivals of socialism anyplace on the planet, regardless of whether they had any immediate association with the Soviet Union. This new strategy got known as the Reagan Doctrine, and it implied, most importantly, another American activism in the Third worldâ⬠(Brinkley, 884). Reaganââ¬â¢s fruitful arrangement and financial matters thought about the flourishing of America. Then, the Soviet Union was losing its situation, in 1989, it broke down into isolated free nations, and there was ââ¬Å"â⬠¦the breakdown of socialist systems all over Europe and in different pieces of the worldâ⬠(Brinkley, 890). The Cold War finished, and the circumstance on the planet changed. The United States was en route to the adjustment: unhindered commerce proceeded, the legislature secured the national interests on the planet field, there grew a worry for human rights. The time of globalization began, and the United States confronted with other international strategy emergencies: the military clash in Kosovo. The Operation Allied Force (as it were, NATO) caused besieging of Yugoslavia that raised numerous questionable focuses to be talked about. As far as the military and financial organizations, the USA made a significant non-NATO partner, presently it incorporates fourteen nations.Advertising Searching for investigate paper on history? In September 11, 2001 one of the most shocking occasions in American history occurred. It confronted with the open military animosity, brought about by atomic fear mongering in which the United States was locked in. Around the same time, there were a few disasters: two business aircrafts collided with Manhattanââ¬â¢s towers, and another business carrier collided with the structure of Pentagon. These frightful disasters were: ââ¬Å" the consequence of a solitary, coordinated arrangement by individuals from Al Qaeda, a formerly little-realized Middle Eastern fear based oppressor gathering. The assaults they propelled significantly influenced the United States and the world. They made what came to be known as the ââ¬Å"war on terrorismâ⬠a focal issue in American lifeâ⬠(Brinkley, 893). Business Project Mont Blanc and Cross - Free Essay Example
Company History As young gifted craftsmen in the area, we quickly picked up the best skills that could aid us in becoming one of the largest companies that produce a high-quality range of writing instruments. This reputation enabled Montblanc Inc. to be the firm with a great competency with upscale brands such as Mont Blanc and Cross. And as luck would have it, the construction boom in 2000 meant that we would not have enough skilled labor that would help in meeting the burgeoning demand and supply for these instruments (Shapira, 2017 pg. 31). And so, we have attempted in looking for partners up to the necessary scale, appropriate quality, and meticulous process that is significant in manufacturing such global products that would give Montblanc Inc. a market entry into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) markets. Montblanc Inc. is a privately held business but will be registered as a Limited company. In the next 5 years, the company aims to have made many fundamental changes. Additionally, the focus on low-cost manufacturing, like the United States ââ¬Ëexports, would be completely stopped, and the focus shifted to other European countries. This would see the company gaining more and more capability in producing writing instruments, and in turn earning a good reputation in the niche. Introductory Summary Montblanc Inc. seeks to employ all its core competencies in achieving a sustainable constructive context where other competitors cannot provide the same value of brands as produced by Montblanc Inc (Podszuweit et.al, 2001 pg. 39). Already, Montblanc Inc. has been on the forefront in developing core competencies in (1) producing branded products with high quality amongst which its images will be recognized by consumers; (2) heightening reputation among the retailers through being reliable to them by delivering the requested products and in the right quantity; and (3) creating a sense of togetherness among the consumers. This way, the firm aims to improve these kinds of competencies that will see the marketing efforts increasing the product numbers that are offered as distribution across (Fritz et.al, 1970 pg. 22). Through creating a coherent context with retailers, consumers and those supplying the products, Montblanc Inc. believes that it can create a sustainable and competitive adva ntage over its rivals. Running Formation As Montblanc Inc. will be starting as a small enterprise, where the planned staff is in corresponding proportion with the size of the company and the projected revenues, and employee costs will be held at a minimum to reach the point at which the company starts earning some profits. Position Year 1 Year 2 Year 3 Manager $ 50,000 $ 60,000 $ 70,000 Cashier $ 31,000 $ 40,000 $ 49,000 Distributors $ 42,000 $ 44,000 $ 52,000 Accountant $ 29,000 $ 35,000 $ 39,000 Total People 7 11 13 Total Payroll $ 152,000 $ 179,000 $210,000 An extra $900 will be included in the personnel plan to account for additional taxes yearly in the payroll budget. Market Analysis Because of the initiatorââ¬â¢s connections within the context of UAE, Montblanc Inc.ââ¬â¢s focus on the future is going to be minimizing the risk of dependency in the brands it produces. As well, it will seek to maintain operational efficiency and improve the great design. However, the main agenda is to incorporate technology across the value chain, where for instance, the company will launch a Cross app that will aid the distributors with real time perfection of inventory any place at any time. As if that is not enough, there are some pretty significant brands that would help the company to grow in relation to the complete model of working with Cross (Fritz et.al, 1970 pg. 61). It was established in 1846 in Rhode Island and is preferred as the official writing partner for the White House. This is one of the brands that is respected with a reputation for being capable of crafting fine writing instruments. And so, getting into accessories that have the same brand name would cert ainly increase the global pace of market accessories by an estimated rate of 15 percent annually. Even if some past experiences have failed, Montblanc Inc. looks forward to turning it up to be a perfect blending. Alongside taking over the complete brands in the market, there is also the need to incorporate licenses that would see Montblanc Inc. participating in the over Euro 1 billion types of writing instruments in the market. SWOT Scrutiny Every company has its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, so does Montblanc Inc. These are deliberated along with how they influence the operations of the company. Through providing a wide array of services by building a modern culture and brand that would be more amenable to the plans in future; this creates strengths of this new company (Coman and Ronen, 2009 pg. 54). Nevertheless, the weaknesses of Montblanc Inc. rests in the aspect of bearing in mind that this is a new venture, a business that is unfamiliar, and that some brands can be expensive to offer in comparison to other rivals. Even if the weaknesses can be addressed, they lie on the compelling aspect towards achieving the marketing strategy. Strengths Basis for forming a strong management team Located in a significant center that promotes excellence Forming a well-focused management staff, thereby improving the distributions of product into range of offerings Weaknesses Lack of appropriate awareness among the customers involved New and unknown brands of writing instruments Improve in technology may alter the market in distinct directions Absence of enough marketing expertise Opportunities Export market might offer a very great potential The market context is expected to grow rapidly Distribution channels that seek new products Threats Slowdown in economy could diminish the targeted segment in the market Market might be sensitive to change in prices Change in context of technology might make some brands obsolete Implementation Strategy Over and again, the main strategy of implementing this plan is via monitoring customer services and cost-effective measures. Therefore, it will be our goal to offer quality writing instruments and professional staffs who will lead in all functions with advanced customer service (Herrnring et.al, 1979 pg. 41). On the implementation stage, employees will be offered with service training on attitudes, perceptions to customers, and ways of addressing complaints from the customers. Anticipated Investment The founders of the Montblanc Inc. have invested personal savings worth $415,000 to initially start-up the Company for the purposes of balancing both the losses and profits for the first one year of the business. When the company grows in three-year time, there might be the need to offer loans and add new employees. Nonetheless, there is no need for instant capital at the moment.

Using The Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale
A Pre-Kindergarten classroom was observed using the Early Childhood Environment Rating scale scoresheet. The purpose of this paper will discuss one section, space and furnishings. The score sheet was used to observe the children and the classroom. Eight areas where observed, which included indoor space, furnishing, and outdoor gross motor. Each area had a different score, although certain areas scored an excellent seven. Overall the classroom had a great score. On Friday, February 5, 2016 I observed Ms. L pre-k classroom. I arrived in her classroom at 8:45 am and stayed until 9:45am. Ms. L was the only teacher present in her classroom, at the moment she doesnââ¬â¢t have an assistant teacher. At the beginning of the observation ten students were present. By 9:30am Ms. L had all twelve of her students present. The state ratio for a pre-k classroom is one to twelve, meaning one teacher can be with twelve students. However, if another teacher was present in the classroom they could h ave up to twenty-four students. This ratio includes four and five year olds. All the children in Ms. L class are four years old, currently none of her students will turn five until the month of April. Three out of twelve students in the classroom have either a food allergy or family food preference. The American Express Launched A Coalition Loyalty Program
Background In May ââ¬â¢15 American Express launched a Coalition loyalty program called Plenti. Members of Plenti can earn and redeem points by shopping at participating merchants (e.g., Exxon, Macys, Rite Aid and ATT.) The biggest challenge in launching the program was signing up merchants and building an economic case for shifting away from proprietary programs. As part of efforts, we were in negotiations with Rite Aid to join the program. Under their old loyalty program (Wellness+), Rite Aid issued reward dollars (+UPs).The dollars could be used for purchase within their store over next 2 weeks while in Plenti the points (1 point = 1 cent) are valid for 3 years and can be redeemed at any participating merchant. Rite Aid was concerned that ifâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦One option was to guarantee dollar value of points redeemed at Rite Aid However, in their old loyalty program, all points were redeemed in their stores, so the guarantee had to be equal to their point issuance. Rite Aid was planning to issue $75M worth of points so the proposal represented a large risk. Alternatively, we could have offered them exit rights linked with in-store redemptions but that would have created an uncertainty and would have been against spirit of coalition. We finally proposed ratio of points redeemed at Rite Aid to Rite Aid issued points redeemed at other sponsors would always be greater than 1. The ratio implied on Cash flow basis the program will be neutral for Rite Aid. The proposal guarded us against slow adaptation and penalized only if redemptions at Rite Aid were lower than other sponsors. We did not have any data to inform the metrics. Even though we were confident about meeting the metrics in the long term as Plenti envisioned signing ââ¬Å"earn only partnersâ⬠(where customers will earn points, but will not redeem them) but in the short term it was a challenge to estimate it. The proposed guarantee had two major drivers, firstly, how many Rite Aid issued points will be redeemed in each year and secondly how many Rite Aid issued points would be redeemed at Rite Aid vs. other merchants. We used data from international loyalty programs (Nectar, Air miles) and estimated 80% of the points The American Express Launched A Coalition Loyalty Program considered.â⬠Background In May ââ¬â¢15 American Express launched a coalition loyalty program called Plenti. The Value of Teaching the Book Thief Essay Example For Students
The Value of Teaching the Book Thief Essay The Value of Teaching The Book Thief Supported by all the irony and vivid coloring, The Book Thief is more easily understood after acquiring knowledge of reading literature with greater care and meticulousness. It is about Liesel Meminger and her history with death, and how she handled difficult situations with the experiences, how she survived through it with words. There is a death of a friend, the love of a parent, and survival of the people who can take it. Markus Zusak took a creative approach in writing the novel that the appalling subject matter is made moreà tolerable. The thing about this book that sets it apart from the rest of the books out there is the narrator, his name is Death and his job is to collect human souls. This book should definitely be taught because it is a great teaching tool, the novel gives the readers a different perspective of World War II, and the novel has an element of diversity. Markus Zusakââ¬â¢s approach to writing The Book Thief allows readers to be overwhelmed and impressed by the art of writing. He does this by using an immense amount of figurative language. We will write a custom essay on The Value of Teaching the Book Thief specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now The story unfolds as metaphorical abstraction with enlightening imagery and fascinating analogies. An example imagery would be, ââ¬Å"The orange flames waved at the crowd as paper and print dissolved inside them. Burning words were torn form their sentencesâ⬠(Zusak, 112). The novel has literary devices that students can learn to identify and then adapt it into their writing. Zusak writes The Book Thief in an omniscient perspective, with this the reader can almost see the story through the characterââ¬â¢s eyes. The novel also has a strong use detailed descriptions, similes, metaphors and analogies. For example, No, hair like twigs. Thats what it looks like when it hasnt been washed. Look out for hair like twigs and swampy eyes and a kindling beard (Zusak, 509). The novel gives readers a fresh perspective with Death. The fact that Death was given some emotion and even the sense of compassion, took the pain out of his duty. Death didnt want to get involved with the lives of humans but he couldnt stop from watching and caring. He always gave a warning to upcoming events so that there werenââ¬â¢t surprises, allowing the reader to prepare emotionally. Zusak masters the skill of foreshadowing in the novel, which students can learn to identify and use it in their work. The novel can also teach students to put in cliffhangers in their work, as well as write in point of views of inanimate objects. This book will teach students to think outside of the box when writing. There are symbols everywhere is the book, the reader just has to pay attention to them. For example, the dominoes on the cover of the book are compared to falling bodies. The symbols provoke reflection and realization in readers. Even the thievery of Liesel is symbolic; the young girl was robbed of a brother and her mother was taken away from her, a lot was taken from her and to settle the score she steels books. Students can learn to incorporate symbols into their writing. The Book Thief is takes place in another period, a catastrophic one where many did not have the strength to live through it. A time where words are power. The notorious tyrant, Hitler rose to power with words and stayed in power with words, the book brings that aspect out. The book makes the reader realize how powerful words can be in a time where people are so vulnerable. The book is written from the perspective of a German family in Nazi Germany and due to this change in perspective students will learn that there are two sides to every situation. As a student myself, prior reading The Book Thief, I had always assumed that the Germans lived a decent life with no hardship while the Jewish suffered. Reading a story that is told of a struggling German family during Nazi Germany was refreshing and very educational, as it taught me that there are different aspects to everything. .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee , .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee .postImageUrl , .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee , .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee:hover , .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee:visited , .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee:active { border:0!important; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee:active , .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u5ecd383a6cf389c643c298dc9858a9ee:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Sumer EssayThe Book Thief addresses a major element of diversity. Religious differences and the brutality for choosing to be a part of that religion is acknowledged. Lieselââ¬â¢s family decides to hide a Jewish man in their basement knowing the consequences could be dire. Liesel learns about the conflict ongoing between the Naziââ¬â¢s and the Jews, and why hiding a Jewish man would be dangerous for their familyââ¬â¢s lives. She learns to be compassionate and love a person no matter what religion they believe in. She learns to help people as much as she can. In a classroom there are students with different religious beliefs, at least in a diverse country like Canada. Even though the western society has come to accept other religions, but there is always the occasional joke discriminating the religion. By reading this novel students can see how Liesel accepts Max despite their religious differences. For students, learning to be accepting and compassionate towards all people, no matter their religion, ethnicity, or beliefs is an important aspect of diversity and a life lesson. The Book Thief is one of a kind. The Book Thief should definitely be taught as it is a wonderful teaching tool. The book will allow students to identify literary devices and use them in their own works. The book will also teach students to think outside of the box when writing, and that there is no boundary when writing. The book also teaches students that there are two sides to every story. The novel also addresses a major element of diversity, which might allow students to be more accepting and compassionate of people who are of a different dissent then theirs.
